Indole-3-carbinol (I3C) Pure Encapsulations contains indole-3-carbinol. Indole-3-carbinol is found naturally in cruciferous vegetables. Cruciferous vegetables include cabbage, bok choy, broccoli, brussels sprouts, or cauliflower. Phase I and phase II liver detoxification is helped by indole-3-carbinol. Indole-3-carbinol helps healthy estrogen metabolism. Indole-3-carbinol helps healthy estrogen metabolism in human lab tests. Indole-3-carbinol creates a good ratio of weak estrogens (2-hydroxyestrone metabolites or 2-OHE) to strong estrogens (16 alpha-hydroxyestrone metabolites or 16 alpha-OHE). Indole-3-carbinol creates more weak estrogens. One human trial showed indole-3-carbinol helped cervical cell health. Healthy estrogen balance from indole-3-carbinol helped normalize the cervical cell health. Use 400-1000 mg/day. Ramp up the dose slowly. If the indole-3-carbinol creates nausea or vomiting cut back on the dose. Indole-3-carbinol may cause trasitory hot flashes. Inddole-3-carbinol is contraindicated in lactating or pregnant women.
