Fighting Hemorrhoids

Fighting Hemorrhoids and Constipation

I found an effective way to heal my own hemorrhoids. I had hemorrhoids for several years. The most effective way is the proper body posture when moving your bowels. This is best explained by this short video on the Squatty Potty.

Note: You can accomplish the same thing by crouching down over your knees while moving your bowels. You don’t even need the Squatty Potty. You may see the reviews on the squatty potty here.

I myself tried this posture on the toilet for several months and my hemorrhoids seemed to heal up. My hemorrhoids have continued to be healed for several years.

Grapeseed Extract Heals Veins

Before leaning over my knees, I used grapeseed extract from Costco seemed to help me heal up my hemorrhoids. The Grapeseed Extract seemed to help by making the pain of the hemorrhoids less and shrinking them.  However, the hemorrhoids did not go away totally.  Grapeseed extract is supposed to help the integrity of the arteries and veins. According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, there are many high profile studies that show grapeseed extract will help venous insufficiency (varicose veins). Venous insufficiency is where the veins become baggy. Blood pools in legs.  Blood pools in the veins near the rectum.  This means hemorrhoids.

Cleveland Clinic Wellness center actually believes the same thing.

Constipation

Hemorrhoids can be caused by constipation as you strain to get rid of the stool. In terms of constipation, lots of meat without vegetables certainly seems to make me constipated. Formaldehyde from pressboard, wrinkle free clothes, new furniture, and wrinkle free sheets, and new glues in plywood touching the skin or inhaled can cause constipation in susceptible individuals. Organophosphate pesticide can alternatively cause constipation and diarrhea or only constipation or only diarrhea. Organophosphate pesticide stimulates the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system simultaneously. Theobromine in cocoa powder and shea butter can also cause constipation. Theobromine may stimulate the sympathetic nervous system (flight or fight) and cause constipation.

In contrast, petroleum products will increase bowel movements. Gas heating or a gas stove in the house will stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system. The parasympathetic system is the vegetative state. Hot computers, hot TVs, car fumes, or stereos out gas heated plastic. This heated plastic is parasympathetic stimulating helping a bowel movement or sleep. Ink on the printed page can also cause parasympathetic stimulation, and can stimulate a bowel movement or sleepiness.

Excess calcium in the form of lots of cooked spinach can decrease magnesium.  Kale, swiss chard, taro all contain high levels of calcium oxalate.  The high calcium will cause constipation.  Here is a list of high calcium oxalate veggies.  Xenoestrogens on the skin or taken orally will also lower magnesium. A low magnesium level will cause muscle tensing and also cause constipation. The intestine becomes all tensed up from the decreased magnesium. This leads to constipation. You can take a good magnesium supplement to help your bowel movements. Magnesium relaxes muscles and the bowel and counters constipation. The brand is extremely important. I personally take Nature’s Plus Magnesium. It has a little corn symbol on the bottle. I take 2-4 caplets per day. This is 400-800 mg/day. Bowel movements occur the next day.

I also take prunes sometimes along with the Magnesium to induce bowel movements.

I also found that eating 1 large raw carrot a day is very helpful to prevent hemorrhoids.  In addition to bulk being added to the stool, there may additionally be a mild hormonal effect.
