A Study in Amsterdam used a one hour surgical procedure that stabilized blood sugar levels in Diabetes Type II patients even one year after the procedure.  This procedure is begin heralded as a break through that may end insulin injections for Diabetes Type II patients.

The inside lining of the small intestine was destroyed, and then, allowed to regenerate.  Doctors stabilized the Diabetes Type II patients' blood sugar.  This effect still held one year after the procedure.

In 50 patients, Doctors inserted a tube into the patients' mouth and fed the tube all the way down to the intestines.  Hot water was fed into the balloon at the end of the tube.  The hot water balloon burned away the inside of the mucous membrane of the intestine.  2 weeks later, the mucous lining of the intestine regenerated.  90% of the patients improved their health even one year later.
