More people die of sepsis than Breast Cancer, Colon Cancer and AIDS put together every year in the USA.  Thousands of people die from sepsis every day.  This is equivalent to 3 jumbo jets crashing into the ground every day.  Sepsis is the most common cause of death in Hospitalized Patients.  $20 billion dollars a year is spent on treating sepsis.
